Rev Donald is ordained and authorised to perform baptisms and dedications, weddings and funeral services.
Baptism is the way in which we welcome children and adults into the Christian faith.
If you wish to be baptised, or to have your infant baptised, please get in touch with Rev Donald on (04) 232 050.
A dedication is a Christian ceremony that dedicates the infant to God and welcomes the baby into the church. During this ceremony, the parents also dedicate themselves to raising the child as a Christian. Dedications are performed where families desire that their child should not be baptized until they are older and can make a conscious choice. Rev Donald is happy to talk you through all these decisions.
These services are provided free of charge.
Our bright and airy worship space seats 150 people on our cushioned wooden pews, and is a lovely venue for weddings, with a fully-equipped kitchen downstairs in our hall. A wedding typically costs $350 for the Minister’s fee and $250 for an organist if required.
Our church hall is a heritage building, and is also available for receptions. Please note due to the special character of our venue, alcohol is only permitted on the premises for toasts.
We usually require couples to attend marriage preparation with Rev Donald and his wife, Angela.
Rev Donald is available to provide support to grieving families, and to conduct funeral services.
We offer a Christian funeral service, and work with you to modify it to fit your family and to reflect the wishes and personality of your loved one. Rev Donald will meet with you and your family to plan the funeral service and explain the various options that you have to put together a fitting celebration of your loved one’s life.
Immediately following the funeral service refreshments can be served in our lounge (adjacent to the worship space) or downstairs in our hall (suitable for larger gatherings). Catering recommendations can be provided by Rev Donald or your Funeral Director.
Funerals for members of our parish are free of charge.
